Mechanics for this study must be as simple as possible with enough to do it's task.
For this project there is passive and active mechanics that are considered. Passive mechanics is the support structure to carry the moving parts. Active mechanics includes lateral and vertical movers needed to take the pcb blank from one path to the next. On the firts prototype for this automation machine that was designed as Fab Academy 2017 final project the stuctures are quite bulky. On the passive side development efford goes into minimizing the structure and making it easy to manufacture and scale for different automation targets. On the active mechanics screws was used, they are heavy and not easy to scale to different implementations. Also they are not easily available to purchase. For this reason different options like belt or wire options will be studied.
